It all started with a backyard. Our fearless owner, Joe, wanted to be able to work out on the days that he worked so he built a gym in his backyard. This was a place to get his WOD (Workout Of the Day) in when his 12–hour work shifts prevented him from getting to the gym.
Soon, Joe’s friends joined him in his backyard gym. Joe, already a Level 1 CrossFit trainer, thought…hmmmm…. there is something fun about programming and leading my own workouts. So, Joe applied for affiliation with CrossFit HQ and on June 7, 2012, CrossFit Reaper was born.
The backyard was no longer going to cut it, so Joe and his entourage of support began seeking a permanent home. On July 2, 2012, CrossFit Reaper moved into its current space. With equipment still in the truck, the very first WOD was performed at CrossFit Reaper by Joe, Marissa (Joe’s now fiancée), and Zach (one of our trainers!). That first workout is now known as The Reaper.

CrossFit Reaper has been in the fitness business ever since, and has seen 6 people obtain their Level 1 certifications and hundreds of members increase their overall fitness. At CrossFit Reaper, we focus on building fundamentals and perfecting technique and form. Our philosophy is “quality over quantity” with all of our clients. We believe that one rep with perfect form is better than any number of reps with poor form.
